I am 44, father of three boys. Is it wise to still travel out to struggle abroad?
Any time i discuss this issue with some people who have travelled out of the country once or twice, they discourage me, yet, they still travel out when they want to. Why are they discouraging me? If London is tough as they report, why do they still go? I am 44 but i feel within me that if i travel out, i will be able to make enough money to at least build a house and save myself from the hassles of landlord in my old age. How much am i earning here in Ibadan? I bet you, the way i am going with my life in Nigeria, I will die a pauper if i dont do some surgical operation to my decisions and life. Someone said, at 44, i have spent the energy i need to work abroad. Someone should open my eyes to some fact please, is it wronng to trevel out now at my age?
Pastor Wale's response.
Economic migration is nothing new. It drove Abram from Negev into Egypt (Genesis 12:10). When however Isaac wanted to migrate to Egypt in Genesis 26, God warned him not to. God promised to bless him in the midst of the recession. During the economic depression at the time of Jacob, God encouraged him to migrate to Egypt promising to be with him and his family (Genesis 45 & 46). Should you travel overseas or not? Ask God. He knows everything.
