Reverend Wale Adefuye.
Back to questions.

Apart from going to a bible school, what other trainings should i seek as a young Pastor?

What other trainings do i need to have to be a fire brand pastor? I have just passed out of a bible school in Benin and i am eager to start my church. But before i venture into it, I want to have all the trainings man can have so that i can stand tall in the midst of preachers. Please tell me what makes a pastor great? What kinds of book should i start reading? What kind of network should i join? There is a girl in my life now, she is not well read. I want a well educated wife who can speak good and correct English, a woman who can complement my ministry.
Thanks.
Greg Iyamu, Benin.

Pastor Wale's response.

Other trainings that you can expose yourself to include studying the word of God (11 Timothy 2:15), reading books based on the truth of the Scripture, identifying and walking with faithful people that have travelled the road you are about to travel to learn from them, associating with people at your level that are going the same way you are going and with them and be accountable to them .

Attending a bible school does not necessarily mean one should start a church. Check with God what He wants you to do. What makes a great pastor is total obedience to his employer – God, not necessarily standing tall among preachers.

Regarding the girl in your life, it is your choice and you should be guided by the Holy Spirit. She might not be that educated now, but if she gives herself to study, nothing stops her from being one of the greatest minds tomorrow. You need to make the choice as it relates to your calling, but don't just look at the physical one.
