Background
I was born in Ile-Ife now in Osun State , December 13 1965. I attended Modakeke Islamic Grammar School and later proceeded to Bendel State University, Ekpoma, Abraka Campus where I read Biology education and graduated in the y,ear 1991. After graduation, I plunged headlong into gospel ministrations.
Major turn-around
My Family suffered terribly from witchcraft attacks and ancestral curses. Growing up in Ile Ife, an ancient and culturally deep-rooted town, I knew what is called witchcraft, oppression, daylight oppression, because the environment greatly affected my growing up. It really constituted a set-back for me.
And coming from a family where things were really difficult because of the ancestral background, so all through my secondary days, I was terribly oppressed by witches, wizards. You know, what could have taken me five years of secondary education, I ended up putting in extra five years, Just to write my school certificate examinations because of witchcraft and spiritual oppression.
All these led to or should I say, paved the way for my giving my life to Christ. I have been everywhere seeking for solution until the year 1985 at a crusade ground the Benin City . I encountered these believers at a primary School premises, where they were holding a crusade. And the man of God, Samson Akin, was preaching, thus "Come unto me all ye that labour and heavy laden I'll give you rest". That was when I gave my life to Christ in 1985.
Shortly after that, I gained admission to Bendel State University , Ekpoma. When I got to Ekpoma, because I had just given my life to Christ, I met believers, like Chris Oyakhilome and some others, They are the arrow heads of campus Fellowship then. The fellowship was founded by three people then, they used to call it youths for Christ with Oyakhilome, OJe and one Pastor Jackson now in Port-Harcourt. They were vibrant, vibrant young men. So I joined the campus fellowship. They were full of fire. And before I knew it, I had caught the fire.
Consequently, I became so strong and vibrant on campus that almost everybody knew me. The fire was too much that It drove me to villages: Iruekpen, Okpoji, Innua, Auchi and virtually all villages and hamlets in the locality. In all these places, I was organising crusades. Witches were confessing. Casting out demons from people. People were vomiting. Even on campus, ladies were confessing manifestations. I spent a year in Ekpoma and then moved over to Abraka.
Threats and impediments to growth.
Since the ministry started from the campus, it is only natural that voices of dissent and antagonism should emanate there from. Such dissents came in forms of threat letters from the campus cultist members. Many of them those that their girl friends got saved manifested their anger via threats. Even lecturers whose girl friends got saved too were unhappy.
Some, during lectures accused us of one thing or another even intimidate. I can remember a particular philosophy lecturer, who countered my preaching in his lecturing, saying, we preachers kept deceiving people, saying our preaching ran contrary to philosophy, particularly against the evolution theorem.
Apart from all that, working among the predominant youths is quite challenging. They felt they were there to enjoy life. You see, discovering, partying, doing evil things, immorality, that is not really how to enjoy life. I really worked among the youths. It was quite challenging at that level. And as a student on campus, in villages, there are many witches and wizards. I experience many terrible attacks of nights.
There was a particularly night when I was in Okpoji village and a snake appeared. It was all out for me, but God took control. Another terrible incident was when I was on my way to preach in Akwa Ibom, and the front tyre of the vehicle I was travelling in pulled off on high speed.
Ministry:
What made my ministry unique was the fact that though it started with a focus on youth deliverance and salvation, you will rightly agree with me that the youths are the cornerstone to any nation's greatness. Saving and salvaging the youth in essence, is saving and salvaging the future. And the youths, as we all know, are the leaders of tomorrow. When you get the youths saved, you would have by so doing, get the populace saved.
I faced the challenges of youth then because of the divine order. I was a youth, then I'm still a youth laughs, for I clocked 40 years in on December 13, 2005. But over the years, we've outgrown that divine pronouncement. The youths of those years have grown into full adulthood; It is only natural that we grow along with them.
As you can, see, my ministry cuts across all strata of the society. We have the elderly, the middle aged, teenagers and children. And that is reflective of my calling. Deliverance cuts across. Devil terrorizes people everywhere. Talk about ancestral curse, talk about witchcraft attack, talk about poverty, it cuts across. We all have them on the average, the old people, the youths! the children, we all have a common problem. That is why my preaching, my messages, cuts across.
Proliferation of churches/miracle workers
When we say proliferation of churches, what do we mean? Look at our population. We have about 120 million to 150 million. And the question that comes to mind is, are there enough churches to cater for the enormous spiritual needs of the populace? Even the churches are not enough. What we should be talking about is effectiveness. For example, look at Lagos . On Sundays, church attendance is not up to five million. In a population of not less than 15 million. You see, there are still about 10 million at home. With this scenario you'll agree with me that the churches we have are gross inadequate.
Imagine if the mass of that population goes to Church which Church will contain them? All the available churches cannot contain them. If they all choose to go, we have the facility to accommodate them? " Even this street alone if they choose to, do we have the facility to keep them? What we're advocating is, let those ministers pray well. I have travelled out. People are growing more in their spiritual needs. Demonic powers are daily on the increase. Look at our campuses, student cultists have taken over. In politics, people are daily tilting into the realms of occultism. They use charms and are more devious and daring in their demonic practices.
Immoral dressing:
I think that has to do with civilization and the influence of television, cables. Talking of immoral dressing, I'm sure you're talking particularly of women and our girls. Women these days emulate these girls dressing, as they say to keep their husband. They want to keep looking appealing to them. When they see the young girls outside with men admiring them, adoring them, they tend to think this is what our husbands indulge in outside.
Therefore, they too get entangled in it saying, if this is what makes you look outside, I can give it to you inside'. You see, there is nothing in the beauty of the outside but the inward beauty. I think there is more to beauty than painting your face with all the mascaras. You need the grace of God. You can do all these things yet no man appreciates you.
