As the adage says, we always stand in the compound of a once lazy man to behold the ruins of a once strong man. Political and economic success do not lie in political destruction, fraud and killings," he pointed out.

This change, the man of God said, has to include tolerance of others no matter their views on national issues.
The first place he wants the change to come from is the church, from ministers of God in particular. He advised them to stop using the manifestation of God in miracles, sign and wonders as dragnet to pull people into their churches. This is to avoid spiritual frustration and a congregation of miracle seekers who are still deadly at heart.

Preach Jesus
According to Pastor Adefarasin, it is not the best for kingdom ministers to keep shouting miracles, signs and wonders to gain attention to Jesus for not only do devils too perform miracles but they even appear as angles of light. "Preach Jesus, teach Jesus to the people and before you realise it, their miracles will appear," he says.

The Antioch Christians
Pastor Adefarasin, who spoke to Daily Sun recently in Lagos, made it known that the confusion in churches which is indirectly affecting the nation could easily be put to rest where Christians go back to the city of Antioch where believers were first called Christians.
"These simple folks of Antioch believed the gospel as preached by Paul and Barnabas not the signs and wonders. They responded by living the lifestyle expected of believers in Christ. Before they realised it, they were tagged Christians – Christ's followers in words and in deeds. Miracles, signs and wonders followed.

Character change
"By our kingly characters anywhere we are at any particular time, we stand to convert people more easily, quickly and in less expensive way, says Adefarasin.
"I am not saying that Christ is no longer our healer, deliverer or supernatural provider, but these provisions are meant exclusively for those who not only believe, but practise what they believe. It is wrong to make people believe that church membership is enough to procure the benefits of salvation when they are not yet even known by God the Father. We cannot enjoy His goodness by our own standard of life," he added.

Examine yourselves
Adefarasin, the senior pastor of Guiding Light Assembly, therefore, called on all Christians to re-examine their stand in the Lord so as to enjoy the manifold blessings of salvation as promised by the Master who cannot lie.
"I make bold to say that this country would be rid of poverty, cult, killings and other forms of evils faster if those of us who call ourselves believers in both Christian and Muslim religions would for once vow and live up to the expectations of our religions. Yes, Nigeria would change fast if and we are ready to follow the standard of life expected of us by our God."

New man, new nation
"Let every political office holder from the president down to local governments, appointed and career civil servants, bankers, doctors, lawyers etc take it upon themselves to glorify God in their ways of life for the next six months and everyone shall be surprised at what a beautiful nation we have in Nigeria," Adefarasin added.
