Pastor (Mrs.) Adenike Adeyemi, wife of Reverend Yomi Adeyemi, General Overseer of Christ Foundation Ministries worldwide writes on the virtues required of the 21st Century woman. Using the biblical Deborah as an example, she encourages women to aspire to greater and higher values far and above what we see these days.

Who is the Deborah of our Generation? Are you? God wants to appoint Deborah for this Generation, and as long as you are a Christian woman, you can be qualified.

In the book of Judges 4:4, the Bible described Deborah of old as
(1) A Prophetess
(2) The wife of Lappidoth
(3) A Leader and a Judge Deborah can be called a woman of many dimension.

As a Prophetess, she prays always (1Tess 5:17) She heard when God speaks, no wonder she is able to speak the mind of God. An obedient woman who never walk in the counsel of the wicked or stand in the seat of mockers (Ps.1:1).

She never sow the seed of discord in the house of God but contributes to the growth of the Church. She is available for the work of God. A diligent woman who spends quality time to meditate in the word of God (Jos.1:8, Ps 1:3). Always encouraging the men of God around her, she prays for them and never allow her responsibilities as a wife of Judge to affect the work of God. She doesn't mingle with the world. A woman of integrity who has the wisdom of God.

Woman, check yourself. As a wife and mother, she never fail in her duties. Her husband never lack love. Deborah is always at the door waiting to meet and cuddle her husband as he arrives from the office. She protects the interest of her husband anytime, anywhere and always stand by him even in the time of challenges of life. She respects and honour her husband inside and outside the home. She always make sure that the tie her husband wears match the shirt and the trouser. She eats in the same plate and share the same bed with her husband. She is so transparent to him and speaks the same language with him.

A wife who always pray for her husband and never compare him with another man. When Deborah goes out, both her husband and the children are eagerly waiting for her arrival. The children never lack motherly care and love. They share their experiences in their school everyday with her while she listens and give necessary support. She never fail in inviting her household to the family Alter to pray together.

Despite her tight schedule, she still find time to take the children out for shopping and they enjoyed holiday together. (Prov.31:10-end) You too can be a Deborah. As a Leader and Judge. Deborah is professionally qualified. She is not the lazy type. No wonder men were unable to attract her with money. She is able to support her husband and protects him from running into debt. A woman of emulation. An elegant woman who speaks and people listen. She has the wisdom of God to judge her people. An efficient Leader and Army who is able to lead the armies of God to war and brought back victory. Time will not permit me to write more than this on Deborah.

Listen, God is waiting to hear you say "here I am, use me". I am sure you know by now whether you are qualified or not, but even if you are not, God is able to make you, provided you surrender and submit yourself. Some women has a lot of excuses for not working for God, either their children, husband, or work. All are however given to them by God. Is God guilty of blessing them? You need to have a change of mind. As you answer to God's divine call today, The Lord will anoint you, make a change of you, use you and bless your life and family in Jesus Name.

Shalom!
