Among his over 5,000 devotees, his image looms large. Like decrees, his words evoke power and fear. But that is "just a slice of the relationship existing 'between' Sat guru Maharajji (real name Suaib Ajirobatan), the founder of One Love Family and his followers.

For 19 years since he founded the Sat guru Maharajji village located on 30 acres of land along Lagos - lbadan Expressway in Oluyole Local Government Area, Oyo State, Satguru Maharajji who addresses himself as the "Perfect Living Master" and "The creator" has been piloting the regimental lifestyle in the village where almost everything including eating, sleeping and bathing has time.

•  Face to Face with Sat guru Maharajji

Perhaps meeting him comes with a decision. You either hate or love him. Believe or dismiss him, but whichever divide one tilts towards, he remains for his followers, the one in whose hands the destiny of the world rests squarely. Obviously not a fashion freak. His traditional attire is red, which he quickly explains signify love. Heavily bearded, he turbans his head with a red scarf. Satguru Maharajji comes across as a man of peace (with himself and his self-styled world).

He keeps his followers gazing and wondering without end with his soft, velvety voice and oratory. A red painted double-room size furnished to taste and decked with multiple colours - yellow and red, any first caller would almost guess his sitting position. As you peer into the room, a red curtain stares you on the face. A corner of the room given extra care draws your attention as flowers liter the foot mat leading to a presumably inner chamber. A king-size upholstery chair beautifully crafted to distinguish if from the few others in the room stands imposingly - facing a handful of his devotees who form a squatting human gallery on the red rugged floor.

Controversy
Since starting his movement in the 80s, no leader of any sect has courted controversy more than this Ibadan Prince who turned 58 this year. For a man who typifies the elephant and the blind man analogy, it may not be totally out of place to add controversy as his middle name, following varied interpretations given to all his gestures.

First, for calling himself, the Perfect Living Master, many church leaders have called him devi1. But like all men of steel, spurred on by their belief and conviction over their mission in life, Sat guru Maharajji seems unperturbed by the derogatory references to his person. He told Sunday Sun that He is not worried about all they sat about him. But in the fullness of time, the world will know who is who.

The great challenge
I challenge anybody, lawyer, man of God, tribalist or racist who, deceive you about the truth that Satguru Maharajji is not the Holy Spirit and Saviour of this time to swear with the Bible, Quoran, Gita, sun, air, moon, star, fire, oracle or deities that Satguru Maharajji is not the ordained master and you will see what will happen to the person in the next few weeks," he says.

"We have been deceived for too long by the whites. There is nothing like God, Allah or Chineke. It is all deceit of the western world. The true name of the creator is Satguru Maharajji," he says.
