Question 1:
Do men of God really need all these excesses to effectively preach the gospel?
Thank you Pastor Adenekan for your response. This behaviour is common amongst the pentecostal pastors. I wonder if the are really worshipping God or mammon. What is a pastor proving when he has fleet of cars like 2 Hummer jeeps and assorted high class cars? What is a pastor proving when he does jerry curls? What is a pastor proving when he is never seen to be modest in dressing and goes about it fleet of cars?
This is the more reason why I want to suggest that churches should pay taxed. They make hell of money and they have idle funds. The road to some churches are so terrible, yet their pastors would rather spend their idle fund on cars, buildings, lavish conventions, importing pastors from America for crusades that wins no soul. They will never do social work like reconstructing the roads. God is watching all of us.
Pastor, I read your interview in one of the past editions of this magazine. When shall we have PET Live in Calabar?
Adokie Emmanuel,
Calabar, Nigeria.
It is interesting to read your comments
pastor. I am not only amazed that they drive pass town in a motorcade, but on high speed as if they are being trailed by hired assassin. Pastors have become tin gods. It is really easire to call Jesus down to earth than see some pastors. I wonder if this 'glamour' is the real essence of the gospel.

Pastors are not like that here is South Africa. I want to believe that these pastors have contributed in no small way to the crime that pervade Nigeria. We read of people stealing money in their companies and bringing tithes to Nigerian churches. It should not be so.

I have lived in Nigeria for six months as a scholar. What I saw of the people and their leaders stultified me.
Let us look at it again. Why are the pastors like this? Poor training. I found out that many Nigerian pastors are full of ego. Many of them are reported to have shunned attending Bible schools where they would have been trained that to be a pastor is to be a servant, to be humble and to live by example. Many of the GOs dont attend refresher courses. They believe what they have learnt from wherever they are coming from is enough. They believe that the anointing makes the difference. That is why many churches are poorly administered. Anointing has its place. Education has its place. Administration has its place.
What are these pastors preaching in their churches anyway? miracles, prosperity and the likes. Even the devil performes miracles. The Egyptian magicians also did their bit. Pastors should preach salvation, humility, honesty and live likewise. Vanity has taken over Nigeria and that is why that nation is in trouble.
It is good to locate this website. It is more surprising that a Nigerian is doing this. A Nigerian? Almost impossible. I will be here more often.

Everybody with his own style to actualise his calling. There are the good, the bad and the ugly. The flamboyant, the reserved and the rustic.

We can criticise the pastors till kingdom come. How have we changed ourselves?
