It was a nice interview. I am not critising the pastor, but he didn't say anything good Obasanjo did. It was obvious that Obasanjo was chosen by God because the Bible says nobody becomes a leader except chosen by God. He made mistakes and was carried away by the wordly praises. I think all he, including all our future leaders need is prayers.

Will Pastor Tunde (it sounds like thunder) Bakare say with all Christianity in him that Obasanjo has not done any good thing since 1999? Are we not just getting ruled by civilised person? Is Bakare rooting for Babangida and Atiku? What kind of Christians are we when we don't see anything good in good people? No, Obasanjo cant leave not with the options being Babangida and Atiku.

If Obasanjo will go, (as I want him to go, and go he must) let him groom new leaders. This talk of God chosing leaders for a nation... i dont know. God has given us the power of choice and we are to exercise it the way we like. If we exercise it right, we get the result. If wrongly, we get the result. All we need is to make Nigerians realise the evil that Babangida portends for the nation. Since independence, we just had a civilised governance in President Obasanjo, his shortcomings notwithstanding!

Is it true that there is a Pastor Tunde Bakare? If so, did he really say those things written against his name? And is he sincere he has nothing against President Obasanjo? Did he prophesy in March 1999 that the "axe was to fall by May 1999"?
He belittled GSM phones as a 'basic need' that any country should have rather than regard as an achievement. But so is potable water and electricity, etc. And how many previous presidents and army generals gave Nigeria a telephone system that has cut down unnecessary road journeys, and therefore, road traffic accidents? Was he ccusing Obasanjo for the three-year advance rents that landlords demand from tenants? This practice (at least one year's rent upfront) has been the vogue since the Shagari regime, perhaps earlier.
Accusing Obasanjo for not being as philantropic as MKO? Chief Abiola was rich and had his own funds. President Obasanjo works with a legislature and does not make the policies. So he did not go to a university? But his regime has paid most of Nigeria's external debts and stabilised the economy. The Bible enjoins us to pray for our rulers; to love; to forgive any who wrongs us; not to hate, etc. Or am I wasting wasting my ink here? Does anybody think we are listening to a man of God here? I have nothing against Pastor Bakare apart from his everlasting hatred for Obasanjo. The journalist needs to ask him what did Obasanjo steal from him? I have watched him on TV so many time whenever I am in Lagos. In this interview, the pastor did not raise any valid arguments against Obasanjo. For instance, for 8 years, Obasanjo could not fix NEPA. Rather he changed it from NEPA to PHCN, (Please Hold Candle Now) This is more valid than condemning GSM.
