* Rescued from the pit of hell.
From your new release (book), I was touched by the way devil plaid over your life but thank God that the devil has being overcome. Also thank God for Papa who stood by you through out the period of pains. Early last year I was sent to a remote area of Imo State to serve (NYSC).I never new something like these has taken place. Until I made my way to Shiloh 2005. Mama, your book has made so much effect in my life. That is in my health and family. I thank that I found myself in this family. God Bless you mama and Papa............

* It is indeed a miracle.
The experience of Mrs. Oyedepo is more than a story. It is indeed a miracle. I could not help but cry and at the same time give God praise. This is indeed a testimony. What you went will indeed help others to know that God is alive and well able to deliver us from all evil targets. Mama you are my inspiration. I love you and pray for you and your ministry. I was at Shiloh and could help but thank God for your life. You are a woman worth to be emulated. I love you. It is just that I already have two daughters, otherwise, I would have named my daughter after you. But my grandchildren will. I am expecting a son(s) in Jesus name.

* We overcome by the blood of the Lamb
For the bible said that we have overcome by the blood of the lamb and the word of our testimony. The enemy has surely been put to shame.

* God sent his servant
This story goes on to prove that God sent his servant, Bishop David Oyedepo. I love you mama Oyedepo, what so ever the Lord doeth, it shall be for ever.
Ibinabo Minah

* The story has inspired me a lot and further strengthened my faith in the Lord. I am currently experiencing a similar feat with stiffening and numb limbs, continuous head aches, dancing eyes and general weakness. I am however going through pastoral administering, including constant prayers for DIVINE HEALING. I have not yet sought medical intervention as I believe in God's healing powers. I have even begun to experience improvements.
Rita Thomas

* I nearly burst into tears
Indeed God is so good. I nearly burst into tears when Mrs. Oyedepo said she recalled her husband saying, "Lord, prove that you have sent me". Indeed, the Lord has proved that He sent Bishop David Oyedepo and his wife, and He has also put their enemies to shame. Lord Jesus, I thank You that You had mercy on Your faithful servants. Thank You Lord, thank You.

Bimbo Odukoya

* Poser from Bimbo Odukoya's death:
Who is the next Christian agony aunt?

Praise God for a thought-provoking article like this. This question of who would most likely "step" into the shoes of Pastor. Bimbo death is clearly beyond human comprehension because, God's way is not our way and as the heaven is far from the earth so are the thoughts of God from ours. What I'm however sure of is that God is in the business of giving us pleasant surprises. I will not be surprised if God raises an apostle out of the whole lot that we have suggested and make him/her even greater than Pastor Bimbo. The Church however has a responsibility to ask God for such an apostle to come quickly because the decline of morals is gradually becoming alarming and as Christians, we need to be up and doing as we are in the very last of the last days. I live in the UK and the kind of things I see in this country tells me that there is a lot of work to be done in the area of purity in relationships and the time to act in NOW.
Lanre Abidoye Egham, Surrey UK

* She was indeed a blessing
I sincerely appreciate God for the quality of her short life. She was indeed a blessing to her generation. I congratulate Pastor Taiwo Odukoya for being blessed by a wife of her caliber, character and beliefs. Her children should forever return all the glory to the ALMIGHTY GOD, who gave them a truly virtuous mother with outstanding values. For us, Christians, Muslims...I guess we can never stop counting the numerous ways we've been blessed by her. No one can ever take her place because geniuses are rarely replaced. I pray that God will provide support for our singles, because they're the ones that'd miss her most; her guidance, advices and counselling.
May the Word of the Lord continue to be a lamp to their feet and light to their paths. Pastor Bimbo has done her "mighty" bit and has fulfilled her destiny. What about us? Have we discovered our divine destiny? Have we started fulfilling it? If not, her demise is a REMINDER that we'll all depart this world someday. As ordained by God. It is not every one of us that'll live up to 3 scores and 10 years. Arise, O sleeping giants and fulfill your destinies!!!
Olufadeke Omo-omorodion

* She lives in our hearts for ever
Pastor Bim lives. She lives in our hearts for ever. She rests in the bosom of the Lord. Jesus lived for 33 years but is alive in our hearts. The apostles all had gruesome deaths. We thank God for Pastor Bim and the her ministry.
Dele Balogun

* She greatly inspired me with her book
Pastor Bimbo touched lives, but she greatly inspired me with her book after reading the book, Ii had to quit a relationship which was void of God because all through the 5 years in the relationship I shut Jesus out of my life.

Lecture 4: Dynamics of a good marriage

*
Many Nigerian marriages here ends in divorce in the US
I totally agree with what this article said as a believer. I live in the States where people actually get married for many different reasons such as to get tax breaks, for green cards, for fun and etc. Even in the churches, you have people that have been married 2, 3 times and nobody says anything about it. One sister once said to me that we, Nigerians are taking this whole Christianity thing too far because it is the westerners that brought Christianity to us and now we think and feel that we know better than them. Since they risked their lives to bring Christianity to us in Africa , why are they not practicing what they taught us? Many Nigerian marriages here ends in divorce and recently, many are killing their spouses just like American are because of lack of tolerance. It will only do marriages well here if our pastors and men of God here will condemned divorces in their respective churches.

Controversial Church Questions
Can one have sex with one's partner after the traditional wedding has been done?

* This clear some issues
I respect the man of God highly because he has just helped to clear some issues in the air and I promise to refer people, most especially youths to this site. Thank you.
Kayode Johnson Jeddiah

* Pre-marital sex, sexual harassment, etc is predominant here in the UK
This story is brilliantly fine. The case of pre-marital sex, sexual harassment, etc is predominant here in the UK . The stories of father defiling the daughter, homosexual, and lesbian is not strange but a custom. One is tempted a times to raise the question when God will be prepared for their Salvation, for they believe religion is of old and only meant for the aged to attend Church. This sexual misconduct had eaten into the fabrics of the system and their young are suffering in the Nursing Homes NHS hospitals from drugs, ranging from Cannabis to cocaine and sconk, but their land is flowing with milk and honey. However God is not slack as per His promise but waiting for their repentance, and your repentance over there if you also are a partaker in this kind of sin, 2 Peter 3-9 so that they do not become the Sodom and Gomorrah of our time. I have experienced people in Nigeria that have cultivated this foreign way of life of, homosexualism and lesbianism and this is time for their deliverance if they would call on God. This way of life attracts the wrath of God.
Rev. Yomi Adeyemi UK .

* Traditional marriage is best
I think that having the traditional marriage is the best because I know that it is the one mostly recognized by God but if couples insist on white wedding, let them go for Church blessing. Mean while white wedding just came and we are just imitating the whites, so I think traditional is the most important thing and once it is done, man and woman are married, so they can start making family. Thank you and God bless you.
Adaoha Ndubuisi

* Marriage ceremony is not about crowd, it is about approval from the two families
Traditional marriage is the most important aspect of marriage. The church wedding and or registry have legal law attached to it. These days, many do not want to recognize it but that is wrong. Once your parents and even your uncles and his uncles were present, the marriage is recognize by God. The church blessing or marriage is becoming fashionable but from my own view, God has blessed every traditional marriage as long as it does not involve all the traditional and juju performance. It is not how many people who were present in the ceremony whether traditional, registry or church. Many marriages have been ruined because of all the wicked people that were present with their demonic presents, etc. How many people were at the Garden of Eden when God gave Adam his wife? How many people where with Isaac when he saw Rebecca with his father's servant? Marriage ceremony is not about crowd, it is about approval from the two families and God and God is always present when any two families agree that their children should marry each.

*
Church wedding or church blessing is foreign in the bible
From the biblical point of view, church wedding or church blessing is foreign in the bible. I doubt it if there was a marriage organized by the apostles of Jesus Christ. The wedding that Jesus attended was by an invitation. He was not invited to officiate as we see some supposed men of God do today. The basic and sacrosanct form of marriage is the traditional whereby the parents of a girl hands their daughter to the man of his choice. Today, some ladies are already pregnant thereby making the pastors to wed THREE people instead of two. Social party for wedding is optional, and has no scriptural backing whatsoever. What the pastors teach/preach on the day of the said wedding is the responsibility of the church to teach it before the wedding day so that intending couples should know the dos and don'ts and the will of God in marriage. Ibadan , Oyo state I hope this will help.

Can the virgin Mary forgive sins as a Christian denomination portrays her?

* I smile at the ignorance behind this question.
I think the domination referred to here may be the Roman Catholic Church. Any normal member of the Catholic Church will smile at the ignorance behind this question. Never judge a book by its cover.
Dayo

* Catholics don't ever ask Mary to forgive their sins
My comment is this, there is no Christian denomination ever portray that Mary forgives sin, even the Catholics that respect Mary, don't ever ask Mary to forgive their sins. Thank you.
Adaora Okafor

* ‘Virginity' of the Virgin Mary
I read with interest your article, but couldn't help but notice your touch of sarcasm by using common sense to reason the ‘virginity' of the Virgin Mary. I am a Christian and I know (as I believe you do), that many characters of the bible have symbolic meanings for us to learn and emulate from. Would we discard the notion of the ‘baby Jesus' just because he grew up to a man, or why do we refer to the story of the '10 Lepers'? after all they got cured. Let us leave it as the Virgin Mary; after all we want our daughters to imbibe that virtue.
Okezie

How do you think one gets to know God better than before?

* What can one do to improve one's prayer life?
Well, I strongly agree with the pastor's answer, but I feel there is no one that can come to the Father expects he is drawn by Jesus, and Jesus works through the Holy Spirit, who is the principal teacher of how we should pray and study God. So it is very important to know that nothing can be done without the help of the Holy Spirit. I have a testimony in this area, so I know what am talking about. We need the Holy Spirit more than ever before, we need him everyday. We can not go through this world without the help of the Holy Spirit. Thanks

Enoch Adeboye:
Why I don't criticise Obasanjo in public

*
Adeboye's best attitude

Pastor Adeboye's comment is one of the best I ever heard. The man is truly a mathematician who is full of God's wisdom. In today's world (even within the Christians) we criticise the leaders than to pray for then. We forget where we came from, also we forget where we are going. The leaders are human being like us, but the responsibility entrusted to their cares are very great. God who has being carrying Nigeria on His wing will continue. Talk when to talk and pray more. None of us can do anything by own power but by the help of God. That is why "fingers are not equal". God bless you, Mr. Editor.

As a minister, I fully agree with what He said we should keep on praying for the country and I believe when we look up, not to Aso Rock, our redemption will soon come.

* Pastors, not politicians, are the problem.
This is a very insightful article. Thinking along the lines of Pastor Yinka will make us pray much more for our pastors so that they can lead the flock of God aright.
Akin Taiwo

I agree with Pastor Yinka absolutely. Pastors, not politicians, are our problems. I also agree with Mar Osemudiamen on your Discussion page. Many of our pastors have become Owambe. You see them rocking the city with politicians. They have become prayer merchants for governors, local government chairmen, etc. Some peddle influence. Some even search for contracts. We need to pray.
Bim Micheals.

It's great to read this interview of the husband of Pastor Deola. I got her book Give me a Spouse from a friend in February last year here in Jo'burg. I was to wed in September. I called off the relationship because she opened my eyes to some things I have overlooked. Serious things. Today, I am happy for it for I would have sentenced myself to mysteries through the wedding. When are you going to interview her? Can't wait to read her.
Marion Bris Makelele (South Africa)

May God give us more pastors like Pastor Yinka. We have the same experience her in Ghana . It is now fashionable for our pastors to seek international fame. They hardly stay in Ghana now. We must pray for them.
Afrifa Luke. (Ghana)

Pastors, not politicians, are our problems. I say no more. Ride on Pastor.
Mary Akintayo (London)

The problem with the pulpits started with the Pentecostal pastors, many of whom are not trained in the theology of Christian preaching. Many of them left their former churches in anger to form their own. They lack patience and training, so imbalance is inevitable in their sermons. In the Catholic Church, its takes years of training before you can become a priest. Any profession that is closed to training and discipline is open to abuse, imbalance and quackery. Hope this helps, Pstor Yinka.
Gabriel Osu, Lagos

I agree with Pastor Yinka but… No matter what the pastors say, those who will steal will steal. Don't they steal in churches? On prosperity, yes, the balancing is not there but we still need to preach it. My advice is Pastor Yinka should speak out the more. Come on Tv. Don't confine yourself to your church.
Yinka Adesuwa. (Chicago)

My reactions to this interview is we need to hear more of the young Pastors on national television. Thank God I did not miss this interview. I follow your ministry with interest.
Mike Okonkwo. (Lagos)

When I came home last year, I heard so many embellishments on the prosperity sermons! This is the biggest problems from the Nigerian pulpits. I am not happy about the quality of sermons in our Pentecostal churches. So many of the pastors are shallow and copycat. They are aping American pastors. I think many are not trained. If pastors must be excellent in preaching, let them go for excellent education.
J.K Ogundimimu

Now I know Pastor Deola's husband. And I know why they are both growing. She has a husband who compliments her. Few men can speak of their wives like Pastor Yinka does.
When are you interviewing Pastor Deola? If the interview will need sponsorship, let me know please. Can I send in some questions on what I want to learn from her? Please editor, reply me quick.
Yetunde Olatubosun (Liverpool)

It's good to know that Yinka is still in the faith. I have known him from Kaduna before I travelled out. God bless you. I have seen his books and that of his wife on your site. I read about the convention and saw the pictures. God bless you for this good work. We don't miss anything about home through your site.
Bawa Ishaya , Ontario.

Thank God for your interview. We will hear more of you in this land. Congrats on your convention. Great pictures there. Great books too.
Tinuke Osoba, Dolphin Estate, Lagos

When shall we read of Pastor Deola too?
Ngozi

The message here is that Pentecostal pastor should ape people like Kumuyi, not American pastors who glorify wealth. That is why Christianity is dying here in America . May it no dioe at home.

The first book ever printed was the bible

* Bible contains all sorts of things
Really, one can make any story from the bible because it contains all sorts of things. If one is searching for contradictions in the bible, one will surely find one, but without a genuine proof for one to understand bible, one must possess the Holy Spirit because without Him, you might be sidetracked off the truth.

George Barna: One in three adults is unchurched

* Articles be screened through the funnel of the word of God before publishing
Yes, quite an interesting read. However, the bit about what Buddhists calls detachment, I find it worrying because what that tells me is that the writer may not necessary subscribe to Christian teachings in this respect especially as I find no reference either directly on indirectly to the word of God and also because this is supposed to be a Christian magazine.............

I would like to suggest that articles be screened through the funnel of the word of God before they are disseminated. I am saying this because a lot of corruption that crept into the body of Christ today came in under the guise of good common sensical teachings but with no basis in the word. Also the Bible recognises that certain persons would not be brought up in the so called ideal families and provided for that in the work of the atonement on the cross. Healing for our insecurities were provided for because Jesus suffered rejection and was despised that we may be accepted and have healing of our emotions provided we understand and know how to appropriate what he made dividing the truth of the word and not substituting, ideas of the world for the word of God, no matter how wise it appears to be or sound Thanks

Christian Sex Rules 1:
A Guide to what's allowed in the Bedroom

* I have wonderful sex life with my wife
This article has been of great blessing to me. I have wonderful sex life with my wife, performing the act from different positions. But some three years ago, I went for a retreat in which I saw a vision of myself in a '' 69 style''. Well, I thought GOD wanted us that particular style and put our mouth to better use other than oral sex.
Late last year, we filled with so much ecstasy and we found ourselves in'' that position'' again. By the time I woke up, my upper lip was so swollen that I couldn't go anywhere on that day. Without any medication my lip became normal before night time. We laughed over it but it was not a joking matter initially. Until now, we can't share it with anyone. WE'LL NEVER TRY IT AGAIN NO MATTER WHAT!!!!!
But the issue on porn films in the article is not explicit enough. What if myself and my wife mutually agree to buy a CD and watch? We've had a lot that we are encouraging these people in act. What is your opinion? On this issue, does one have to experience a personal encounter with God or what like the ''69'' I mentioned earlier? Thanks once again because the latent guilty conscience within have disappeared like carbon dioxide.
Love.

* Pains of a gospel music pioneer
My comment concerns the article named above. You mentioned my father's name in the article (Mr. Sunday Adoun) but the spelling was wrong. Can you please effect a correction? It was wrongly spelt as Adohun in the article. It is correct that the late Pa Daniel Sunday Adoun was a close personal friend of the late Mr. Macaulay Ajayi Balogun. I can personally attest to the fact that they were both God fearing honest men. The statements by Mrs. Tayo Esan are true. I found your article on the internet. I live in the United States . Thanks.
