How To Fire Your Boss And Hire Yourself
Fire yourself with the right questions
BY Albert Aina
"... Life's most important answers can be found in asking the right questions. Right questions open you up to creative ideas..."

"I am the captain of my soul; 1 am the master of my fate."
................................................................... - Williams Henley

Genesis 30:30: And now, when shall I also provide for my own house?

Life's most important answers can be found in asking the right questions. Right questions open you up to creative ideas.

Right questions expand your world view. Asking right questions opens the window of your mind for fresh ideas to come in. When Jacob asked the right question, "When shall I also provide for my own home", a new frontier of creativity opened up to him. May that one idea to change your story reach you now in Jesus' name.

Some four young men in far away Samaria asked the right question. Their health condition notwithstanding, their stories changed after responding to their own question.

II King 7:3 Now there were four leprous men at the entrance of the gate; and they said to one another, why are we sitting here until we die?

This question begs for answer from everyone glued to salaried job and ever complaining but ever fearful of loosing the salary. Why sit there until you die?

The prodigal son after wasting all his years and investments in riotous living came up with the right question that opened him up to the right answer.

Right questions expand your world view. Asking right questions opens the window of your mind for fresh ideas to come in.

May you find yours in this chapter. Luke 15: 17 says "But when he came to himself, he said how many of my father s hired servants have bread enough and to spare, and I perish with hunger.

You need to continuously ask the right question and seek correct answers along the following lines.

How will you exit your present job?
1. How do you want to end up at retirement age of 65? Statistics prove from country to country that
Only 1 % of people at 65 are very rich.
Only 4% are financially independent at 65
5% still struggle to make ends meet at 65
30% would have died in service before 65
54% would be broke, penniless and dependent on others for survival at 65.
It is up to you to decide at what bracket you will end at 65.

2. Will this income you are working for now still be flowing when you are no more working?
3. What price are you paying for job security presently?
4. If you had all the money in the world and never had to work again, how would you spend your time?
5. How long would you and your spouse survive and still maintain your standard of living and lifestyle?
6. When you retire, will you be making more money than you are today or less?
7. What skills do you need to develop to build your financial future?
8. Where is your current job leading you into in terms of financial independence?
9. Do you know your present financial condition or net worth?
10. Are you satisfied with your present financial condition?
11. Do you have enough savings to see you through six months of normal living expenses, if you were to stop working?
12. Are you aware of the simple ways to increase your net worth?
13. Do you own a house?
14. If you were offered 5 million pounds to quit your job, would you? If 5 million pounds is more important than your job, why not go for 5 million pounds?
15. What specifically is holding you back on your present job? What is tying you to salary?
16. Who is working harder presently: yourself or your money?
17. Would you rather live a life where you do not have to work hard to earn more or would you rather live a life where you have to work harder to earn more?

In my book, Giving Wings to your Potential , I highlighted twelve key questions that emphasise Your differences (Please get yourself a copy)

Twelve key questions that emphasise your differences
I. What is the deepest desire of your heart? Desire is a strong indicator of your course of destiny and area where you will produce good fruit.
2. What stirs your passion? Passion is that zeal for excitement and intensity that you feel about things that are important to you.
3. What flows naturally out of you? Don't ignore the things you do best. Don't try to squeeze on size eight shoes though you are a size ten. What you call your hobby presently may be, infact, what should be your major occupation.
4. Where do you bring forth best fruit or produce highest results? Matt 12: 33. A tree is known by its fruit. Stop wasting your life doing irrelevant and unproductive things. Find out where you bring the greatest results - your place of comparative advantage, your competitive edge.
5. What do you like to talk mostly about? You talk about three topics most of the time
a. the things you hate
b. the things you like
c. the things you fear.

Inventory your conversation, pause long enough to know the kinds of conversation you have.
6. What career, business or vocation do you feel the peace of God about pursuing?
7. What thoughts, visions or dreams are impossible to put out of your mind? Don't bury these under a pile of doubt, fear and reasons why it won't work.
8. To what can you give 100% of yourself for your whole life? One of the greatest tragedies in our world today is the number of people who go to work everyday, but never know what is really in them.
9. If you would accomplish only one task in life what would it be?
10. What makes you cry and why? This may be a clue to the reason for your existence.
What is the witness of the Holy Spirit? Sometimes you can't explain it, you just know it.
12. What are those things in your life that are in high demand?
