The redeemed Christian Church of God is set to build another Redemption Camp in Floyd Texas, about 60 miles from Dallas. Already, the first phase of the gargantuan projects has been completed.

An indication to this came alive during the 2005 Ministers conference of the Redeemed Christian Church of God North America [RCCGNA] which held between October 20-22, at her National Headquarters fondly called The Camp in Floyd, Texas about 60 miles from Dallas.

Presided over by the General Overseer of the church, Pastor E.A. Adeboye, the conference tagged Excellent Minister featured teachings, seminars, prayers, workshops and ministrations.

The wonderful thing about the conference, other than the move of the Holy Ghost is the amazing transformation that has taken place in the camp. At the conference last year, the auditorium was under construction which was under construction was all muddy and part of the auditorium was wet from the rains .It was so bad that some  brethren discarded their shoes after it got so messed up with the mud. But today the auditorium has transformed into a beauty on earth.

Lying on 560 acres of land, with plans to acquire more, the camp will include in its first phase [already completed] a conference hall and a 300 car parking lot. The second phase is about to take off with a 10,000 expandable seating auditorium, prayer tower, landscaping, fish farm, water park and will cost $18 million. When God gave a word to Pa Akindayomi in 1956 that he will go places with the Redeemed Christian Church of God, little did he know the magnitude of what God would do. And in 1979, when God told Pastor Enoch Adeboye that the headquarters of the RCCGNA will be in Dallas , he knew that the Lord who has spoken will surely bring it to pass.

In the United States , 850 acres of land gives the community a city status. The vision of the church is to build another Redemption Camp at Lagos-Ibadan Expressway of Nigeria in Floyd Texas. More land acquiring process is under way to achieve this objective. This will makethe camp a city of its own with her mayor, zip code, police department and all other facilities befitting a city status in the United States.

The RCCGNA is fast expanding. Currently, there is a total of 237 parishes. With the development of the camp, the yearly National Convention will be held there rather than being moved from state to state. The 2004 Convention, which held in New York cost the church a whopping $700,000. Building the camp, according the church authorities, will not only save the church save lots of money, but preserve its legacies.

Eventually the camp will include 100,000 seating auditorium, elementary and high school, a college, hotel, movie theater, sports ground, and housing for members who are desirous to build in the camp. There will also be shopping malls, restaurant and all other facilities to make the camp a self-sufficient community. The camp is expected to service the interest of the church in the United States , Canada and the Carribean.

The Conference Centre named Dayspring is open to the public for hire. It has a multi-purpose room 50x120 ft. of 800 seating capacity, adaptable to any kind of meeting style. The church has health, dental and life insurance plans for full time pastors. A proposal for retirement benefits for both part-time and full-time pastors is being considered.

Words of wisdom from the conference

  1. An excellent minister of God is one that is better than the best, flawless and jealously guarded by God.
  2. He must be excellent in obedience, faithfulness, humility, purity, anointing, power and prayer.
  3. Tomorrow is not in the hands of anybody but God.
  4. Use what you have today to get a brighter tomorrow.
  5. It's dangerous to get content with today's achievement and relax too soon.
  6. God expects you to prepare your tomorrow.
  7. God will never do for you what you can do for yourself
  8. Those that will see a glorious tomorrow will be aggressive today.
  9. Regardless, God is sovereign but with praise and prayer, you can win the heart of God.
  10. Be careful how you handle the needy, the poor and those that are at your mercy.
  11. Put God first and he will take care of you.
  12. Its not how long you lived, but how well you lived
