Making the most of your life
Albert Aina
Responsibility is the price for greatness. To make the most of life, you must accept responsibility for self management, and self control. Prov. 25:25, “He that hath no control over his own spirit is like a city that is broken down and without walls”.

If you cannot effectively manage yourself, you can't manage others. Why? every step you take is setting
example for others. You must accept responsibility for what your life turns out to be: A lizard in Lagos cannot become a crocodile in London .

How To Make The Most Of Your Life

1. BE PURPOSEFUL ABOUT LIFE
:
Develop a serious approach to life. In every situation, act like someone going somewhere. Matt 6:22 “The light of the body is the eye. If therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light”. Set up yourself as someone going some where.

2. IDENTITY YOUR TALENTS, ABILITIES AND POTENTIALS:
Seek to make yourself relevant in every place you find yourself. You need to know what you have as a person. What special abilities do you have? If you don't know what you have even if the best opportunities come your way, they will pass you by.

Nobody knows you like you. No one else will announce you except you. Put in your best at every given opportunity. Use every platform, however small, to present your value and sell your worth.

3. BUILD A GOOD REPUTATION
:
Proverbs 22:1. “A good name is rather to be chosen than great riches”. Seek to protect you testimony. Build a good name. Walk in truth and humility; watch out of prode, lies, etc.

4: BE RESULT ORIENTED:

Promote performance. Be result oriented. Like o succeed. Desire to see things happening around you. Resist backwardness. Hate idleness. Avoid stagnation, be a goal getter, a pacesetter, and like to excel. To be in front is not pride. Apostle Paul declared that though he didn't see Jesus, he laboured than all the apostles and became the chiefest of all. Daniel emerged as the head of his class. Being at the rear is not a sign of humility. Jesus was anointed above his fellows Ps. 45:7 By covenant, prophecy and divine arrangement, you are meant to be in front.

5. PLAN YOUR LIFE:
Have daily, weekly and yearly goals. That is your surest way of making progress. If you don't plan your day, the evil of the day will collect it from you.

6. DEVELOP YOURSELF:

Develop yourself spiritually, financially, materially, academically and mentally. Even God said, “I will do a new thing”. Carry a learner mentality. Be a learner from the word of God, books observation and associations. Every added knowledge can only make you a better person.

When you become an embodiment of answers, people will knock at your door. Decide to burn at every corner you find yourself. Men will come to watch you. It is contribution that determines relevance. It is what you have to offer that determine your worth.

7. BE WILLING TO EMBRACLE CHANGE:
Change your styles and habits as you find it necessary. Be flexible. When you discover that something is not working, it means you are not on the road. Don't become transfixed at a spot.

8. VALUE YOUR TIME:
Each value you place on your time is a protection of your future. Anyone that does not have value for your time does not value your life. Time does not wait for anyone. People who waste their time waste their life. Ways in which time can be wasted include:

a. Lack of discipline: Every form of excess translates to waste of time. You must be able to tell when it is enough.
b. Doing unnecessary things: Something may look right, but if it is not necessary it is a waste of time.
c. Not having a plan.
d. Procrastination: Putting off till another day what should be done today.
e. Lack of respect for constituted authority.

When you don't respect chain of command you mark time. This is what cause traffic jam at
T-junction. When you despise commands, you end up at T-junction of life.
