Dear Sister Ibinabo,
Thank you for your kind comment on our organization, Head High International. We must all thank God for this wonderful
e-magazine. We pray that God will give the publisher the mega grace and the resources to forge ahead with this vision.
I read your question and I have this to say to you: I appreciate you are very young and you are walking in line with the word of God that permits young widows who cannot 'keep themselves' to remarry. But do not allow the thought of remarriage to preoccupy your mind. Instead, turn your attention to Jesus, the author and finisher of your faith. Love Him.
Be involved in a true living Church and register for programmes that can make you grow like the Foundation/ Believers/ Baptismal Class, workers' training, Bible College, women's meeting. Seek the face of the Lord and let Him guide you to the ministry/department where you can serve Him in the Church. This could be in the Prayer unit (like Widow Anna in the Bible), Helps/Welfare (like Ruth), Pastoral Care/Altar Nursing (like the Shunammite woman, the widow of Zarephath, and Priscilla & her husband, Aquilla). Many other examples abound.
Be like Ruth. When she decided to follow Naomi, her mother in law, she was not lured by any earthly pleasure or comfort. Her focus was on the God of Naomi. When we draw near to God, He will draw near to us and He will not throw us off when we come to Him (James 4:8; John 6:37). God is also a rewarder of all those who diligently seek and serve Him. Keep serving Him. He is the beginning and the end. There was a Boaz for Ruth, He will bring you the bone of your bone and the flesh of your flesh. Also, God has not left you without comfort. You have two children. Concentrate on being an excellent mother and parent to them. Pray for them and find time to be a true friend and guide to them.
Do not over pamper or neglect them. Do not be discouraged about the attitude of the people in your Church or elsewhere, it is a general trend that God is gradually raising up His people to wage war against. Any point of misery in our lives is the beginning of our ministries, so why don't you just start praying for widows and everyone facing stigma/discrimination in any way?
We are joining your name to our prayer list. we will keep praying for and with you. We are trusting God to be on the web soon. We have many needs but we have come to the point that we see this as a priority - not with what elifeonline.com.and other well meaning journalists have done to write about us on the web. We give God all the glory!
IT IS WELL. IT SHALL BE WELL. YOU AND YOUR CHILDREN SHALL BE GREAT IN JESUS NAME. I SEE A BRIGHT AND COLOURFUL FUTURE AHEAD OF YOU! Don't give up, Jesus is on your side.
KEEP YOUR HEAD LIFTED HIGH.
Shalom.
