2. BE A FRIEND OF GOD.
In I Cor. 7:32, we are told that the single "Careth for the things that belong to the Lord, how he may please the Lord." Spend your single days in developing a worthwhile relationship with the Lord, seeking to please Him at all times. It is a highly profitable moment of your life as a single. It is a period to get more familiar with God, to know Him and to be known by Him. This can only be done by having a regular study and meditation of the word without any hindrance of family responsibilities. As you befriend and obey His word, you are befriending the Lord.
2. BUILD YOURSELF UP
They say water has its own level. So if you desire a pastor as a husband, you must build yourself up in the things of God in order to meet the demands of a pastor's wife. If you desire a caring, loving, faithful husband, build yourself up to be same in order to complement your partner. Your single days is an opportunity for you to develop and exhibit the qualities you will like to see in the future spouse. It is only good and perfect gift that comes from God, so make yourself one for that child of God that is coming your way. Be a gift to someone, search the scripture, read literatures related to what you desire and is expected of you in your home because good husbands and wives are made, they are not born.
3. BEASERVANTOFJESUS
A servant is one that serves the master unreservedly. You can serve the lord unreservedly in your single days without being distracted by family responsibilities. Matt. 6:33 points out what your focus should be, if you want to enjoy all other things life and salvation have to offer. A single who has no purpose of serving the Lord lacks purpose for living. Bear the yoke of the lord in your single days Lam. 3:27. Serving the Lord prevents aimless wandering join an activity group in the church and proof your worth in the kingdom. Go all out for the kingdom business. Be committed, dedicated and faithful in the service of the Lord.
• BUILD A STRONG CHRISTIAN CHARACTER
Anointing will take you to the throne integrity will keep you there. As a single brother or sister, build a sound and strong Christian character by being faithful in tithe payment, at your secular duty post, living out the times as a true child of God both in the private and public places. Abstain from every appearance of evil such as stealing, embezzlement, inflating financial claims. Live out the life of Christ and represent your master well keep godly friends and associates.
Having a foundation of purity makes the difference between those who enjoy their single days and have a peaceful home and those who have difficulties in their homes. The Bible says, "The unmarried woman careth for the things of the Lord, that she may be holy both in body and in spirit (I Cor 7:34). Building up your Christian character is a seed that guarantees good harvest in later years. This is a very vital part of your single days. Nothing can be achieved in life without a purpose. It enhances your dignity as an individual because it is only people of purpose that will amount to anything in this end-time. Locate the purpose for your singleness and make the best out of. Your single days to the fullest in order to enjoy your future home. So work out your singleness to the glory of God.
