The presiding bishop of
El-Shaddai Bible Church, Bishop Lanre Obembe has cautioned politicians not to take the electorate for granted in the coming political dispensation. According to him, the time has come for politicians to fulfill their promises to the electorates.
He said, I will like to warn that the time of taking the people for granted is gone. Nigerians are wiser and they are prepared to call their leaders to order if there is the need for it. I will therefore like to caution politicians not to take the people for a ride.

The cleric further called on Christians to restrain from making negative comments on Nigeria . "I will like to advise Christians and indeed Nigerians to restrain from making negative comments on Nigeria . I will like to advise Christians to restrain from using negative words on Nigeria. America is blessed today because you can hardly hear an American rain curse on his country.
Many Americans are careful about what they say about their country. We should be wary about the kind of comments we make concerning our country if we want to make progress. Life and death are in the power of the tongue. I therefore appeal to believers to restrain themselves and use the right words always."
While conceding that the country is not where many people expect, he said, "We still have every cause to thank God for where we are. Our duty is to pray and work, trusting that God will take us out of the deplorable situation that we find ourselves."
Obembe who is the leader of the Charismatic Leaders Network said the present government has helped to lift Nigeria out of the doldrums noting however that there is still room for improvement.
"President Olusegun Obasanjo, no doubt has done a lot within the space of eight years. He has helped to improve the image of Nigeria and investments are pouring into the country. Living condition has improved compared to where we coming from.
He however noted that the inability of the government to fix the power situation has made many people think that it has not done anything. "The issue of power is a problem in Nigeria . And many people think because this government has not been able to fix the power situation, then it has not done anything. But that is not entirely true. The problem is that there has been negative investment in the power sector over the years, even before president Obasanjo mounted the saddle of leadership.
He then called on the president to do everything within his power to put in place structures and policies that will make it easy for the incoming government to address the power situation.
