The West Africa Theological Seminary (WATS), Lagos has
launched an attack against the spread of the dreaded
HIV/AIDS in Nigeria.
With over 50 students drawn from both the graduate and
the undergraduate clases being co-ordinated by the
urban and wholistic department, the seminary is
determined to achieve maximum results with the
campaign.
The volunteering students who are on work scholarship
for maximum motivation having gone through a rigorous
five-week training have been grouped into different
groups and sent to various Churches within Lagos
metropolis to carry out the enlightenment campaign at
weekends.
One of the student participants, Emmanuel Olufemi of
the post graduate school is glad about the campaign ,
'I find it as one of the areas to touch lives that
could have been damaged by the disease if awareness
campaign was inadequate'.
The West Africa Theological Seminary, an affiliate of
Asbury theological seminary in the Unite States of
America and the University of Nigeria, Nsukka has been offering qualitative theological education in Nigeria
since 1988.
