I remember the day when the Berlin wall came tumbling down. The world was shocked by this symbolic event in world history. As years went by I heard that intercessors have been aiming prayers at that wall for years. Some testify that they knew God was going to tear the wall down so freedom could reign.
These are historic moments that we have been able to see come about in our lifetime. As Christian men, we can have faith that our God can and will do the absolute miraculous in our generation. We can believe that God can tear down even the strongest of walls in our church and world. I believe He does these things when his people pray.
In the intercession movement just recently millions of intercessors consistently prayed through what we call the nations in the 10/40 window. During their season of prayer we saw an increase of missionaries sent to those countries, more testimonies of salvation, and miraculous happenings. Many believe it was because of the focused prayers of believers worldwide.
When united in prayer, we can do far more for our church, country, and world, than anything we may do at our local level. Men can call upon the One who created all of the heavens, the earth and all the inhabitants of the earth and sea. The God who destroyed the walls of Jericho, split the Red Sea and actively participated in the history of mankind also desires to give us answers to the prayers that are in His will.
Our world, nation, and our church is in another battle of really bad ideas. We are in a battle of sexual immorality like no other generation existing in the history of the world. When pornography is a major source of income for the hotel industry, we are in trouble. The major money maker on the internet is pornography and incidently the majority of pornography is downloaded between the hours of 9:00 a.m.and 5:00 p.m. when we should be honoring our employers through our work. When local, as well as national and international spiritual leaders are falling to sexual sin and adultery, we are in trouble.
This trouble often begins with the idea that "My sex is mine and I can do what I want with it." This thought is so entrenched in our media and has soaked it's way into the church. I can't begin to tell you how many thousands of men and women who are calling themselves Christians justify their lustful and often adulterous life to me.
The enemy of our souls and the church of Jesus Christ has waged war against us and as of yet the church has not been called to battle by it's leaders. Our casualties are increasing each year we lose to this war on immorality. What makes this battle even worse is that Christian men are actually funding this war of our enemy as they purchase pornography and support the lust creating media.
I say it's time for Christian men to fight back. If we lose this battle our children will suffer tremendously. We are the warriors who have the weapons to fight this battle and tear down the walls of sexual ideologies that are against our God.
How do we do this? By prayer! These are God's children on the earth that are caught behind the walls of lust, sin, and death. We need to boldly petition God for the souls of those caught in immorality. Can you even remember the last time you interceded for the adulterers, fornicators, and those trapped by self-sex and pornography? God has few men praying for these unreached people in our church, city, nation, and world and when I pray for them His spirit comes upon me so strong, it's incredible.
Ask God to open their eyes, give them revelation of truth and bring His word to their remembrance. Ask for them to be healed or exposed if necessary so that they can come back fully to the living God, the lover of their eternal soul. If we don't pray for those caught behind this wall and tear it down in prayer, then who will? Who will love those that are being terrorized in their soul by the seed of lust, sin and death?
We must be the army of God. If we don't pray, we will not see men raised up in our local church that will lead support groups for these men. We also will not see sexual freedom and sexual purity in the church of Jesus Christ.
My Bible tells me that he's coming back for his bride. His bride has been stained by the lust of this world. Not only are we to abstain from pornography and the lust of the media, but we are to be warriors and engage in the battle against these really bad ideas and strongholds.
In the next couple months, I am asking you to pray for God to heal, touch, and save those behind the wall of sexual sin. Daily ask God to tear down the spiritual and cultural walls of sexual immorality in our culture. He can do it. He is God! All He wants is men to pray for those struggling to have freedom and He will go to battle. Begin to pray that God will continue to raise up local, national and international ministries to heal the sexually damaged, and wounded. Who knows, you may be the answer to this prayer of tearing down the wall!
