There're miracles,
but I don't know if those on TV are real

- says Joel Kada
Joel Kada, founder and senior pastor of Victory Life Church, Ajegunle, Lagos says that as a result of the growing rate of corruption and wickedness perpetrated around, every house should have a church. He said that churches are not enough to correct societal ills, especially among youths.

Calling
Years ago, before I started my ministry, I was with the Communion Church in Festac Town, for close to eight years. Then, I started having several revelations and encounters with the Lord before a confirmation from my pastor and I was ordained. In 1998, the calling to start my own ministry was so clear so, I went to meet my pastor and explained it to him. He didn't like the idea because of my closeness to him, but eventually, he prayed for me and released me and that was how I actually started my ministry.

Tithes and offering
Tithing is a commandment from God. People say it's an Old Testament commandment but the Bible is not complete without the Old Testament. When we talk about tithing, you must obey it because it's an instruction from God. Whatever the Bible says, whether Old or New Testament, it is the word of God. I believe in tithing and everybody, no matter who you are, should pay tithe because it belongs to God. There are a lot of problems many Christians are encountering because they don't pay tithe. For offerings, the Bible says we should not appear before God without an offering except you don't have. There are people that force people to give offerings, but I don't do that. I believe if you have it, you should give because if you are a believer you'll never lack.

Miracles
Yes, there are miracles and I believe in miracles. I don't know how true those ones on television are but I have seen miracles happen. In our church, the lame has not walked yet but I've seen the dead rose in my ministry. I've seen people who were critically sick healed. I've seen somebody who doctors gave 14 days to die being healed. Part of her body was decaying. I prayed for such a person and she was healed. So, that's a miracle. After praying for somebody with AIDS, he went to the hospital, did another test and was certified negative.

Abominable acts of pastors
There are many deceivers out there. There are people who pretend to be what they are not. Some claim to be pastors. Meanwhile, they don't have the calling. They are just there for self-gain and what they can make out of it. I also believe that some pastors who fell into fornication are tempted, not that they are not genuine. It may be that they couldn't resist it at that time.

Proliferation of Churches
In Nigeria, we need even more churches, if possible let's have a church in every compound or house because of the rate of corruption and all sorts of wicked lifestyles of people being perpetrated all over. We need more of God, but what we are praying for is that God should give us genuine churches and pastors with good doctrines, not deceivers.

Community relevance
Our church is in Ajegunle and by the grace of God, we want to see how we can affect youths and young people positively because that area has been known for its notorious lifestyle. By the grace of God, most young girls who have been thrown out of their homes have been rehabilitated in our area and we are still doing more and believing God to change them. Some used to be known as area boys but some of them have given their lives to Christ now.

Challenges
One cannot rule out financial challenge. We are badly in need of money. We don't actually have a permanent site of our own now and the owner of the present site is mounting pressure on us. Sometimes, thieves come into our church to steal and things like that. Those are the challenges, we face now, but with God, we will conquer.
