The early church in Acts of the Apostle was founded on Christ Jesus, expanded on the word and demonstrated the power of the Holy Spirit in no small measure. But be that as it may, a gigantic problem capable of destroying the impact, effort and outreach plan of the young church, stirred the Apostles nipped the growing the problem on the board after solutions were proffered.

Ministry today is equally beset by various problems of higher proportion. It is full of challenges, riddles and questions begging for answers. Yet, irrespective of these threatening problems, the ministry must not only exist, but runs its course, face the problems, solve them and meets needs and fulfil, God's command.

How to Solve Problems in the Ministry

1. Discuss it openly:
Problems are not meant to be kept, but to be shared. Because a problem shared is a problem solved. Talk about it openly to your members and ministers. They will automatically shut doors against rumour mongers who want to misrepresent facts and cause confusion. Besides, the members might have a better idea regarding how best to tackle the problem.

2. Mobilize Strong Prayer Support:
Prayer is still the strongest attacker, just as it is also the bedrock of any worthwhile ministry venture. You can not win without prayer. No matter the level of the problem, learn to surrender them to God in prayers. Resist and bind the spirit that is causing the problems.

3. Be large hearted:
By being a leader, much is expected of you. Have a matured mind and sound approach to issues. But be willing to let go off hatred particularly towards those who started the troubles. Forgive them and show that you are a leader after all.

4. Do what is right:
Feelings sometimes betray genuine intention. Be bold concerning the decision you hope to take. Don't look at faces to determine and arrive at your conclusion. Just do the right thing by doing what is right anyhow. Don't betray you confidence by carving in to blackmail.

5. Seek help from the body of Christ:
Problems can weigh you down if you are not careful. Sometime, you need genuine advice of a friend and a lifting hand and words of mentor to provide you a way out of the problem. Telling you it has happened to them or someone they know and how it was handled, might just be all you need to hear to know what to do.

6. Address the issues, not personality:
You must avoid the error of focusing on personality rather than the issues revolving around the problem. Those often accused are sometimes guiltless. Keep your focus on the problems only. Don't fix the blame, but fix the problems squarely.

7. Delegate tasks to competent people:
Why so many leaders are often overwhelmed by problems is because they want to be the jack of all trade . When you try to show you are a superstar by doing practically all what other people can do, then, you are courting trouble. Share responsibility among people under your leadership sphere. It will relieve you of so many stress and potential problems arising from murmuring, envy, jealousy against you or your leadership. At that point, they will only be bringing their problems to you to solve.

8. Apply Personal Approach:
If the problem centres around a particular individual or group of people in the church, don't hesitate to initiate move to personally reach them and iron things out amicably. This approach, is devoid of misunderstanding you and fueling the crisis by the third party, is even more effective than calling a meeting over minor issues such as personality clash etc. When you go personal, a better understanding of weakness, hope, strength, expectation, frustration will be reached and a lasting friendship, based on mutuality will be achieved.

9. Provide Unequalled Leadership:
sometime people do not rebel against you as a person, but against your leadership style, pattern, imposition and archaic methods. The only way to solve this set of problems is by providing dynamic, growing and unequalled leadership that they can't get anywhere. Amazingly, people of today are not looking for a perfect leader, but a developing leader that is growing on all fronts. Good leadership will solve some problems permanently.
